After my long tenure at Ross Products Division of Abbott Laboratories, I have been blessed with the addition of two wonderful babies that have increased our family from 3 to 5. Additionally, I am few months from a MSPM degree from BU while continuing to do contract work.

Until July 2005, I was a senior process engineer for the Ross Products Division of Abbott Laboratories. My career consisted of working for about 13 years in various positions of R&D and operations, ranging from being project lead to project manager. Many aspects of my career required understanding and implementing guidelines and requirements of regulatory, good manufacturing practice, quality assurance and other engineering design practices.

In addition to my engineering/project management persona, I have recently launched my own line of personal and holiday related greeting cards with a comprehensive website soon to come!

My professional experiences have allowed me to grow and learn about myself as well as others. I continue to have the pleasure of working with many wonderful people from various backgrounds and cultures which allowed me to be an effective lead engineer and project manager for international and domestic projects. I like to say that I see my future like the idiom, forest for the trees - (http://www.usingenglish.com/reference/idioms/forest+for+the+trees.html). But in this case be thankful for what the trees may offer before passing them.

Why have a bad hair day

Factors for a bad hair day have many roots, such as weather, 3Ls night/day activities, or 3Ls physical and cognitive developments. Influences of these factors may or may not be real. The affects are resounding and lasting.

The only possible predictor with some degree of scientific rational of a bad hair day can be found on http://www.intellicast.com/Health/BadHairDay.aspx. The frizz factor can tell me how much or little anti-frizzing agents may be needed to reduce bad hair look. Or, bad hair can be eliminated by following the beauty secrets from, http://www.sleepdisorderchannel.com/stages/index.shtml.
The 3Ls have similar sleep patterns. Being individuals their wants and needs do not synchronize. I am convinced that they play ESP rock-paper-scissors for the order to which they will wake up the parents. I can be extracted from my REM sleep by crescendos or diminuendos of sounds that may contain ‘Mommy’, crying or their combination. Once the 3Ls’ sleep has sufficed, their days start with ‘feed me’. After the feeding they split into their own activities. Stop. I think during the feeding they are mentally engaging in a second ESP rock-paper-scissors. After determining who takes the lead; off they go.

We noticed that every developmental milestone is celebrated and mourned. The sleeplessness and continual ESP are more pronounced. I wonder if the additional maps on http://www.intellicast.com/Health/Default.aspx can provide insights into the moods or attentiveness of the 3Ls.

3Ls

I can say that I do remember the day when my life changed forever. Meeting my husband and marriage have been wonderful extensions to my life. In spring of 2003, I took the pregnancy test three times for the first L. Needless to say, 2003, 2006 and 2007 brought three amazing people into the humble house.

The first child's name was quite an undertaking that required extensive researching of various baby naming books. After much deliberation and thought, we generated a list with both genders' names and brought it to the hospital. After naming child #1, Lilli, we kept the list for additional children.

With naming child #2, Liem, my husband and I thought that it would be best to keep the siblings' quarrels to a Death Valley din, by naming child #3, Li.

Another suprise in all of this has been that all 3Ls names in birth order have coincided with our house number of 542.
